Artist Biography
Saskatoon based dark artist, Gabrielle Rose, has been creating her unsettling works since 2016. The themes of her creations can most easily be broken down in horror, anatomy, and the occult as she enjoys exploring topics that invoke discomfort and curiosity. Largely self-taught, Gabrielle began her art career selling small ink illustrations and acrylic paintings at local street fairs and craft markets.
In 2018, she created The Dark Market (An Unorthodox Evening for the Strange and Unusual), an evening art market featuring local like-minded artisans. The event was an all around successful, and returned the following year, before the Covid-19 pandemic caused an indefinite hiatus.
Since then, Gabrielle has become known for her signature stippled inkwork and detailed skeletal illustrations. She currently resides with her husband, Justin, and two cats, Odysseus and Wicca, and is working from her home studio on her first large scale acrylic painting collection.
